25-Minute Talk
the cumulative statistics system of PostgreSQL (pgstats) is a vital part of the backend, able to deliver reports made of aggregated information about the state of the cluster.
This talk is made of three parts: a light explanation of the architecture of pgstats with its advantages and limitations, a list of the features related to pgstats added to v18, and lastly how extensions can take advantage of pgstats in v18.
This talk is aimed at helping intermediate/advanced developers, be it in developing new in-core features or out-of-core modules.
