The SQL standards are famous for being more honoured in the breach than the observance, but they’re far from alone. Authentication and authorisation protocols like OAuth and OIDC have so many options, and so many parts of the standard are regarded as optional even if they are not, that implementations from large providers may be outright incompatible with each other. Extensions could fit well here, tracking the particular implementation of an enterprise vendor or cloud provider.
Our working group session will allow you to hear from people who have built the extension points, and the extensions. You will also have the opportunity to cross through the wall of the fishbowl and join the panel for a round of discussion.
